Demand Bill Nelson’s Response

Join us, Miami-Dade Green Party, Progress for All, Progressive Alliance, South Florida Water Protectors and 350 South Florida as we come together on Tuesday to demand a response to our signed petition to stop the Sabal Trail Pipeline.

Senator Bill Nelson received our petition on December 29th, with over 98,000 signatures to stop the Sabal Trail pipeline. We have not heard back from Bill Nelson on this urgent petition and we are coming together to demand an answer to our petition. http://www.change.org/SabalPipeline

The Sabal Trail pipeline is a 500 mile long pipeline endangering Florida’s aquifers, the health of millions of people and wildlife. The joint venture between Spectra Energy Corp. NextEra Energy, Inc. and Duke Energy want to bring this pipeline in direct contact with Florida’s pristine water resources. Scientific studies have shown these pipelines always leak and there are hundreds of toxic chemicals flowing inside this pipeline besides natural gas.

Now more than ever our water is under attack and we most fight back for the sake of our health, our environment and our children’s future.

Senator Nelson was a critic of the Keystone XL pipeline and voted against it. We ask that Senator Nelson, as a democratic representative for the people, stand with the people against Florida’s Sabal Trail pipeline and it’s dangerous infrastructure.
